I'm really bored. Supposed to be studying but eh, procrastinating on Fb. And you know what, I realised something - that Asians deliberately put pictures of themselves with Caucasian people as their profile pictures.
Once more western glorification. Of course now I hear you accusing me of glorifying them too cos my boyfriend's white and I can't stand the Asiany things Asians do. Let me clear that up for you, I don't go around exclusively dating Caucasians (ask all the Indians, Chinese and one Malay I dated), and second, I like Asian people, but I don't like how they do certain things that they shouldn't be doing and then make a bad name for ALL of us Asians.
Ok so back to profile pictures. I'm sure that makes sense if they're your friend and you hang out with them a lot and you guys are pretty close. But someone you met once, twice, thrice? At a bar, at a club, at a party? Are you that friendly with them that you want to grant them the honour of being in your profile picture? Or is it just cos they're exotic? Ok maybe I just practice a different set of norms when it comes to Facebook etiquette, but apparently its a competition of how many non-Asian people you know. Yup that's right, just as long as they're not Asian (South Asian is Asian). So I guess if you can show people you mingle with the exotic sort, more points?
And to finish off, I do suppose my judgements and opinions may be misguided by lack of sleep and stress, but they're my opinions, and you're just listening to me talk (reading what I say) and you didn't have to listen (read) you could've just walked away (closed the page). But yeah, its funny as.
Lol I realise this may contradict my attempt to socialise with Caucasians at the start of the semester, but on the contrary, I never said befriending non-Asians was tacky, I said trying to show it off was. What's there to show off anyway I'm not so sure. I actually know, I just wanna make it sound totally obsecure and sad.
If I had a larger/any following this is likely to result in a huge backlash.
